Origin: India
- Native to India and dried for use as a spice or seasoning, long pepper is a flavoursome alternative to black pepper or cubeb in a range of recipes and dishes.
- While long pepper tastes similar to cracked black pepper, this spice is far hotter than its more common counterpart. It is also slightly sweeter, and carries an earthy undertone with just a hint of ginger, which makes it perfect for use in Indian cuisine.
- As whole dried berries, used as they are or ground in a mortar and pestle, these spicy berries will lift any sauce or gravy. Crush a little into curries, braises and pickles, or grind it over finished dishes in place of black pepper.
- The same Piper longum berries also come in silky pyramid tea bags, so they can be steeped into a warm cup with a spicy, earthy flavour, a hint of ginger and a sweetness milder than black pepper. It is a distinctive infusion for spice lovers, and needs no strainer.
- 100% natural and 100% Organic. We search around the world for the finest produce.
